Biography

Roland L. Harper a long-ball specialist on the PGA tour from 1951 to 1955, before settling down in Kansas to raise a family. Roland came to Colonial Country Club as the assistant golf professional around 1960. He then moved into the head golf professional job around 1961 or 1962, where he stayed for 31 years. Roland then "retired" to teach golf for another seven years.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a resident of Granbury (Hood County, Texas) for 28 years.
